Fabulous F4

The F4 key is a fabulous shortcut to speed up your Excel work. It will hold your ranges constant by adding dollar signs, but it can also be used to make your formatting faster.

Darren Hall: Hi Mariana, great videos! I didn’t know about using F4 for repeating formatting. SImilar to this trick is double clicking on the format paintbrush, it holds to format that you want to ulilize and you can go from place to place and use the same format – for a cell, a row, a column or a range. You likely knew that though!

Mariana: Great point, Darren – thanks for sharing this option. That’s the beauty of Excel: there are often many ways to accomplish something. It’s just a case of finding the one that is most efficient and effective for YOU.

Mariana: Yes, it’s handy! I’m still getting in the habit of using it myself, too. 🙂
