SHIFT into high gear on your Excel analysis

Use the SHIFT key on your keyboard to select data between two cells.  Combining it with the CTRL key at the same time makes for a dynamic duo that lets you quickly select ranges for further analysis or action.

Rhonda Walker: I use shift and ctrl a lot in Word. I hadn’t known, though, that in Excel it takes you to the next blank area or next populated area, so thanks for pointing that out.

I wouldn’t have dreamed that CTRL-A doesn’t necessarily grab all your data – that was a really important distinction to make! Thanks 🙂

Mariana: Yup, Excel’s helpful, but you definitely need to double-check what it does. 🙂

Great work! A lot of people will become more efficient at excel after watching these videos. In addition to Ctrl+A, users can use Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar. Just another way to remember!
